24 One gives freely, yet grows all the richer;
another withholds what he should give, and only suffers want.
25 Whoever brings blessing will be enriched,
and one who waters will himself be watered.

Proverbs 11:4 was one that impressed me today. The thought of wealth being worth nothing after life, but righteousness being what saves us from death. I think its cool because wealth is somthing all men can work for. We can slave our lives away to earn a dime. But we can do nothing for righteousness. Christ is our righteouness. He earned that for us, all we do is accept it.

vs. 21 - Assuredly, the evil man will not go unpunished, but the descendants of the righteous will be delivered.
I get discouraged easily when I watch the news or read the papers and hear of people who are basically "evil" prospering and here we are trying to make our way and do good, yet we are suffering with lack of income, or poor health, or just general "life's not fair". But, when I read this, I realized something, God does not overlook his righteous people and he certainly does not overlook the evil man. I have to put my trust in the God of the universe to deliver and to deal with the evil people. It's just sad that sometimes the children of the evil have to suffer.

30 The fruit of the righteous is a tree of life,
and he who wins souls is wise.
Everything you learn in life from your personal walk
with the Lord Jesus is like a tree of life full of fruit
ready to be used of the Lord as He so wills. We have
this treasure in earthen vessels that the excellency
may be of God and not of ourselves. II Cor 4:7 Now He
has placed this grace, knowledge, and wisdom in your
life so that you may share that with others and bring
them unto the saving grace of God(only the Lord Jesus
can save a soul)We can be obedient to witness and
what great joy is in this!

Vs. 13- Whoever goes about slandering reveals secrets,
but he who is trustworthy in spirit keeps a thing covered.
This verse is a good reminder to me as a believer in Christ who is a girl. It is so hard when you hear something not to pass it on. I don't even know why but it feel so good to tell someone else. But this verse reminds me that I should be a person of character and not pass on secrets or "gossip."

7 When a wicked man dies, his hope perishes; all he expected from his power comes to nothing.
10.b ...when the wicked perish, there are shouts of joy.

his hope for worldly prosperity and his hope to carru that into the afterlife will vanish at an instant. when he realizes he has to take his stand in front of God and answer for himself all his wickedness will place him in a position far worse than the position he placed all the people he was wicked too in.

v.28 Whoever trust in his riches will fall but the righteous will flourish like a green leef.

This reminds me of the passage in Matthew tell us not to store up our treasures here on earth where it will perish or be stolen but in heaven where it will last forever and have meaning.

vs. 22Like a gold ring in a pig's snout
is a beautiful woman without discretion. This verse states that a woman can be beautiful but if her decisions are bad she ugly. Many people can be beautiful but choices they make can make them an ugly person. Our decisions are more important than our outward appearance.

Proverbs 11:4
Wealth is worthless in the day of wrath, but righteousness delivers from death.
Proverbs 11:19
The truely righteous man attain life, but he who pursues evil goes to his death.
These two passages cut deep into my heart. Not everyone will be saved in the end. These passages clarify that the righteous will live and the wicked will die. As I look around I ask myself, is that person saved and living a righteous life. It hurts knowing that some people will not have eternal life. When I think of this I think of my family. I can only present Christ to them, they have to except Him.

22. Like a gold ring in a pig's snout is a beautiful woman who shows no discretion.

I think it is interesting that the beautiful woman is compared to a gold ring, and the lack of discretion is compared to a pig. It goes to show that beauty is minuscule compared to godly character, in this case, discretion.

Throughout this entire chapter i kept thinking. It's astounding how everytime you hear about the stark contrasts between the wikid men and the righteous, it's all hearing. but it seems that everytime I see a wikid man hes having fun, and we never see the pain and hurt, and its sooo lurering to us that dont live their lifestyle.

24. One gives freely, yet grows all the richer; another withholds what he should give, and only suffers want. I must continually keep in mind that all I have is from the Lord and must use what he as given me wisely, especially helping those in need.

"but the rigtheouss will thrive like a green leaf"...

While this isn't prescriptive, it is hugely refreshing. Even in the drought, my God will provide. I don't have to trust in what I have, but the Lord...

Verse 2-When pride comes, then comes disgrace, but with humility comes wisdom.

This is what touched me today because I often associate a wise person as sometimes being prideful. This was just a simple reminder to me that someone who is wise is also humble where in the world's eyes wise people are often prideful.
