Pro 12:1 To accept correction is wise, to reject it is stupid. This is one of the primary purposes of the word of God. None of us like to be corrected but if we walk with the Lord it is necessary. 2Ti 3:16 All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness:
6 The words of the wicked lie in wait for blood, but the speech of the upright rescues them.
18 Reckless words pierce like a sword, but the tongue of the wise brings healing.
19 Truthful lips endure forever, but a lying tongue lasts only a moment. ------------- I love the word proverbs, the figurative words are powerful and really convict me to make sure I say the right things to my children and people I may council in the future.
4. A wife of noble character is her husband's crown, but a disgraceful wife is like decay in his bones.
I love the descriptive word pictures that Solomon uses in Proverbs. Just reading this verse causes me to imagine the suffering, disgusting, painful, and a incurable condition that a woman can cause on a man. It is interesting to note that a wife is a reflection of the husband; her character directly affects her husband's.
Vs. 25- Anxiety in a man's heart weighs him down,but a good word makes him glad. This is the verse that Dr. Higley pointed out as well. It is a good reminder for me that I do need to look to God when I am feeling down or anxious. When I meditate on an encouraging word or about the Scriptures than I am focus on God and not on myself. It really does make your heart better-physically, emotionally and spiritually.
The way of a fool is right in his own eyes, but a wise man listens to advice. This verse says that a person who is wise will take advice and not just blow it like the fool and think they are ok. I need to remember to listen to others advice and not be so prideful that I do not listen.

I see this all the time when I have talks with unbelievers they ask why I think certain things are wrong. It just doesn't make since to them because in there own eyes there is nothing wrong with it and they think we are crazy. I guess it would women in the U.S. even Christians not seeing covering their face as wrong but muslim women will never take their face covering off in public.

I am glad that I do not know the negetive part of this verse. Insted I know the beginning of the verse. My wife is very noble. She loves me and only me and I know that for a fact. Not only so, but she loves and cherishes Christ and his Gospel. She bears up alot of things and prays for people. Truly a noble wife. But if she wasn't so noble I could see how she could be decay to my bones.
Women, becareful to be wives of noble character.
Men, be worth a noble wife.
Women, you have the power to completely tear down your husband. so be the noble woman God desires you to be!
Proverbs 12:22 The LORD detests lying lips, but he delights in men who are truthful. This Proverb speaks the truth. We can take it back to Proverbs 1:7. The Lord detests lying men, but He delights in those that fear Him. If we fear the Lord we will follow His ways and not tell lies or sin.

oh the power of the tongue. it has the power to great things. it can give great instruction, knowledge, praise and power. or it can cut to the very core of a person, bringing them down and causing great pain and insecurity. something as simple and common (roughly some 7,000/day) as the words we say are packed and loaded with so much potential.
a lot to chew on for me.... i will have an interesting weekend with this in mind...

so true yet sometimes so unavoidable. i love isaiah 26:3 "You will keep in perfect peace him whose mind is steadfast, because he trusts in You".
