8 Better a little with righteousness
than much gain with injustice.

This makes me think of all of the injustice in our world. It is yet another thing that God hates. He hates it because it is the powerful oppressing the weak. It reminds me of the Luzerne County matter. Those judges had it comming to them.

Pro 16:24 Kind words are like honey-- they cheer you up and make you feel strong.

Love suffers long and is kind

9 In his heart a man plans his course, but the LORD determines his steps.

This verse is a comfort because my plans for my life get turned upside down, but God ultimatly controls which way is upside right.

4 The LORD works out everything for his own ends— even the wicked for a day of disaster.

i am quick to say that "all things" are from God, when "all things" are good. but to think that trials and the wicked people i encounter are, not issued or decreed of God, but that they are for his will and a part of his plan to make me more like him. i often don't consider it when in the midst of it all when things are not so good.

Proverbs 16:2
All a man's ways seem innocent to him, but motives are weighed by the Lord.

This really makes me think of my motives. Who am I really attempting to glorify God of myself. We should weigh our motives before we pursue anything. We should always glorify God in everything we do.

Vs. 33- The fear of the Lord is instruction in wisdom, and humility comes before honor.
The foundation of wisdom is the fear of the Lord, which is seen in Prov. 1:7. Here it is emphasized again. In order to gain godly wisdom, there needs to be a proper fear of the Lord. And the second part of this verse talks about how in order to gain honor you must be humble. A humble man doesn't even look for honor.

9 In his heart a man plans his course,
but the LORD determines his steps.
I was reminded of this even tonight when the plans I made were completely overturned by what God had in store. Sometimes, what God has planned is harder and completely unenjoyable, but He always has bigger and better things ready for us. Thank you Lord for guiding and directing in only a way you know how!

Verse 25 states "There is a way that seems right to a man, but in the end it leads to death."

This shows that any other path but the path of Christ leads to destruction. A path with Christ leads to life. This just makes me think about the importance of choices in our life, from small ones to life changing ones. Christ has to be first no matter what!

V.2 All the ways of a man are pure in his own eyes.....V.25 There is a way that seems right to a man, but its end is the way to death.

Just like a fool doesn't know how foolish he really is a man doesn't realize how evil he can really be. The first lecture this week was convicting reading the James passage how we Worship God but curse people made in his image.

Im not quite sure why but when i read these verses they jump out at me.

13 Righteous lips are the delight of a king, and he loves him who speaks what is right.
14 A king's wrath is a messenger of death, and a wise man will appease it.
15 In the light of a king's face there is life, and his favor is like the clouds that bring the spring rain.

Maybe its picturing Jesus' face when it talks about the king. It's hard to understand how rotten my sins are and yet be found blameless in His eyes. I know thats know really whats happening here but its still what i am reminded of by reading this.

3 commit your work to the Lord and your plans will be established

there are so many times we strain ourselves in "trying to fond the will of God for our lives" when all the time it is right in front of us

THIS FROM ASHLEY: the first and the last verse start and end the passage with a similar thought that God is incontrol of what happens in our lives and not oursleves. I heard a saying that if you want to make God laugh tell him your plans. This saying is so true becuase He has such a greater idea of how our lives are goign to be He knows all and His way is always perfect! Hope this is ok thank you!-Ashley Harro
