1 My son, keep my words
and store up my commands within you.

Pro 7:27 If you go to her house, you are on the way to the world of the dead. It is a shortcut to death.

If you read through the entire Chap 7 the father is warning the son about Madame Folly. Her path is tempting and deceitful and the end thereof is death: flee!

vs 3 "Bind them on your fingers; write them on the tablet of your heart."
I picture this as a string tied around your fingers so you won't forget something. Solomon really doesn't want his son to forget what he is teaching him and be enticed by the woman of folly.

Women Folly is a trap, a snare, and will lead you to the slaughter. This is why we need to stand guard every day and be ready for sin so we can defeat it.

Its very important that the father describes the evil of Woman Folly. The author says this so his son will be able to avoid her trap and be able to defeat sin. This is important for us to learn, we need to know what sin is so we can be prepared to defeat it.

Throughout this he keeps comparing the two wome. He views woman folly as leading to death. We need to remember that although sin might look good it will eventually lead to death.

Chapter seven is filled with pleas from the father to his son: "keep my words" "keep my commands" "bind them on your fingers" listen to me" "pay attention to my words." It is obvious that what he has to say is VERY important because sin is so desceptive. Verse 22 says "all at once he followed her like an ox going to the slaughter." Sin can easily take a hold of us--even though we know better, we walk right into it without thinking about the consequences.

21 With persuasive words she led him astray; she seduced him with her smooth talk.

i noticed in this chapter that the boy is lead astray but knowingly. she tells him that she is married and that her husband is away. this guy is aware of what he is doing but is so easily seduced that what little judgment he may have had, vanishes rather quickly.

This passage burdens my soul greatly as I prepare to have a family one day. My deepest desire is to seek the wisdom, strength, and courgae to equip my children so they will not struggel like the simple man in this passage.

3 Bind them on your fingers; write them on the tablet of your heart.
Like Heather said, it is like a string tied around your so you can't forget it. People use the expression write them on your heart to mean that you treasure it so much that you should have it in your heart. That's how important these commandments.

This whole passage blows my mind at how enslaved men can be to their desires! it's rough! AS strong as God built males, without a trained mind in God, we a so incredibly weak!!

Again with her ends being the Grave. Where will the path of a licentiousness lead me? To the Grave! Its a simple this plus this equals this. DON'T...but i do...I am still a fool

Proverbs 7
This temptation is very appetizing to the simple, however it will surely lead to the grave. At first you may think its good, but it will turn out very bad. It will separate us from God.

4 Say to wisdom, "You are my sister,"
and call understanding your kinsman;

5 they will keep you from the adulteress,
from the wayward wife with her seductive words

This reminds me of our accountability thread, only wisdom is asked to step in and be your accountability.

The call of Wisdom is spoken in Proverbs 8. Will we see her where the two paths meet? Will we listen to her? She is more precious than anything on the earth. She was here before the earth and still guides us today. Lets listen and follow Wisdom down the righteous path for she knows the way to God.
