31 The mouth of the righteous brings forth wisdom,
but a perverse tongue will be cut out.
32 The lips of the righteous know what is fitting,
but the mouth of the wicked only what is perverse.

Prov 10:9 The man of integrity walks securely,
but he who takes crooked paths will be found out.(dishonest to the Lord and themselves)
I believe the person who walks sincerely in faith and the fear of the Lord demonstrates integrity in their life as such-Phil 3:3
We are the circumcision - We, who have embraced the faith of Christ crucified, are now entered into the new covenant, and according to that new covenant, worship God in the Spirit, exulting, καυχωμενοι, making our boast of Christ Jesus, as our only Savior, having no confidence in the flesh - in any outward rite or ceremony prescribed by the Jewish institutions.(Clark Commentary)

12 Hatred stirs up dissension,
but love covers over all wrongs.

What a fitting verse for my other studies this week. God loves us and since he loved us so much he sent his Son to start a new relationship with us, because the old one pained him so much. Love like that is rare and should be worshiped.

16 The wages of the righteous bring them life, but the income of the wicked brings them punishment.

there's a glimps into the future. i wonder what the punishment refered to is. i think we know and if thats the allusion, what better reason to seek after wisdom.

Vs. 4- A slack hand causes poverty, but the hand of the diligent makes rich
I think this is very fitting to go along with our lecture about "the sluggard" this week. We are to work hard for what we earn. Not saying that everytime we work hard, we will become rich literally, but spiritually. Hard work produces character. Those who are not hard workers will be poor in spirit.

Proverbs 10:19 "When there are many words, transgression is unavoidable, but he who restrains his lips is wise."
So many times I ramble at the mouth and don't think about what I have chosen to say until its way too late. This is a good reminder to stop, think, throw out a few words, then utter things are uplifting and Christ-like. I just wish I had read this verse about 15 minutes ago....

19. When words are many, sin is not absen, but he who holds his tongue is wise.

I am convinced that the book of Proverbs is one of those books that automatically brings hundreds of thoughts and examples from one's own life to mind. With every verse I read I am even more convinced of how sinful I am and how thankful I am that God sees me as justified! There is plenty of wisdom in someone who knows when to retrain from speaking. The risk of sin is highly increased when I decide to talk before I think. Unfortunately, I can remember many instances when I have have talked too much, which then lead to sin.:(

Prov.10:30"The righteous will never be removed" This verse is very comforting to believers that they will not be removed!

The whole idea of paths and which one we walk on has been impressed upon me greatly. It seems that we start on a path when we are born. Then as we grow we decide which path to take. Which ever voice we follow will be how we live. The voice of wisdom leads us down streight paths. The voice of Folly leads us all around, because she calls out from many street corners. Just a fun image.

Verse 4 states Lazy hands make a man poor, but diligent hands bring wealth.

This means alot to me because its not talking all about material wealth. I feel that this is saying hard work pays off, you get what you put in.

Proverbs 10:19
When words are many, sin is not absent, but he who holds his tongue is wise.
This Proverb is so true. The wise will think before they speak and only speak what is needed. The fool will talk you around in a circle and you stil will not get the truth. Sin is not far from the fool that talks you around in a circle.

The fear of the Lord prolongs life, but the years of the wicked will be short.

Those who are alchaholics and drug users have chosen the wrong path to follow and in result have an average shorter life expectancy than those who choose not to participate in such meaningless activities. This is a great chapter for seeing the differences in the paths people make and the outcomes that follow.

Prov. 10:19 but whoever restrains his lips is prudent. This is very hard to do; I find myself being at the other end of the stick on this. I need to learn to listen more, if I had in the past in the past it would have saved me lots of heartache.
