Sacred Friendships Blog Tour ... Week 1

Counselor, Professor, Pastor, and author, Dr. Bob Kelleman, has just released a new book (a collaborative effort with Susan Ellis), called: Sacred Friendships: Celebrating the Legacy of Women Heroes of the Faith. If you are familiar with Bob’s work, you will notice the similarity in style and approach to his book: Beyond the Suffering. Here is what others are saying about Sacred Friendships:

“Dr. Robert Kellemen and Susan Ellis have done a masterful job bringing together here a wonderful anthology of the stories and voices of Christian women throughout the history of the church. They steer a robust course between feminist misreadings on the one hand and irresponsible neglect on the other. A superb presentation!” —Dr. Timothy George, Founding Dean of Beeson Divinity School of Samford University; Senior Editor, Christianity Today

And BBC’s own, Lynelle Buchanan, MA (Chair, BA in Counseling, Baptist Bible College, Clarks Summit, PA): “Great read! These are important stories to tell and vital stories to read—great men of God were influenced and encouraged by great women of God. Sacred Friendships retraces the lives and perspectives of many women who walked their lives in faith. The authors sketch the spiritual words and deeds of women whose relationships with God caused them to minister grace and truth to those around them. This ‘cloud of witnesses’ humbled and challenged me all at once, and inspired renewed commitment to live each day with an eternal perspective.”

In conjunction with the release of Sacred Friendships, Bob and Susan are sponsoring a blog tour to promote their book and they have graciously asked me to be a part of it (my stop is next week, 10/6). In the meantime, the tour has started and I encourage to ride along. To help you do so, I will post the stops (links) every couple of days; see below. Or, you are certainly encouraged to go to Bob’s own blog site, Changeless Truth for Changing Times, and follow it there each day.

The Sacred Friendships tour has already begun; here are links to the first week of stops:
Go to Bob’s blog to follow the tour each day: Changeless Truth for Changing Times.

(Side note to my BBC students: If you are a Counseling, Women’s Ministry, or Pastoral major, this book is a must read for you. It is an informative and inspirational survey of the powerful, and often over-looked, place that women have had throughout the history the church in contributing to and shaping spiritual formation. I strongly encourage you to follow the blog tour mentioned above, and if possible, to get a copy of the book to read carefully for yourself.)

    Blessings
