Proverbs 20:1-3 . . .

1 Wine is a mocker and beer a brawler;
whoever is led astray by them is not wise.

2 A king's wrath is like the roar of a lion;
he who angers him forfeits his life.

3 It is to a man's honor to avoid strife,
but every fool is quick to quarrel.

The gist of these verses in the opening of Proverbs 20 is to remind us of the foolishness of anger. In whatever form anger takes, the physicality of a brawl or the verbal attacks of quarreling, either way, it is anger and it is foolishness. Words (the form of anger most of us can relate to) or punches, doesn't matter, both are forms of anger and both are the behavior of a fool.
