Church's Min Report 5 (3/27)

Everyone should be headed towards applications by now. Obviously, if there are still interpretation issues, you need to adaquately deal with them.

So, give us your thoughts (post them in the COMMENTS section below) . . .

Blessings

So Mr Awesome Teacher
Despite the low attendance of our group we persevered through the trials & continued applicating our passage. We decided that the mane purpose was for the people to remember where they were. Paul also gives an example of himself for the church. In summary he tells them, what you have done, keep doing so.

I Corinthians 12-14

All of our group was present today! We began to chat about our passage and how we can start to apply it. We got to chatting about the clearest ways we could present the application of our passage. We divided up tasks for our next meeting.

Hey Mr. HIgley,
On Friday we kinda did a rushed exposition of our passage(both chapters three and four) so we can now begin applying it. The themes we found in chapter three were knowing Christ (v.8,10), focusing on the end goal(v. 13), looking towards the blessed hope(v. 14) We mentioned that the ultimate goal in our life should be knowing Christ.
In chapter four we discussed the contention between the two women of the church(we still are not sure of whether this is main reason Paul wrote the book...). We mentioned not being anxious(v. 6), rejoicing always(v.4 and what does that really mean?), being content in every circumstance(v. 11) relying on God's strength(v. 13), and that God will supply all of one's needs(v. 19).

In our group on Friday we went over chapter 5 and 6 in Galations. We discussed as a group our thoughts of the chapter, and things that might have confused us. I felt we did a good job in our discussion. Our team leader did a great job of preparing before hand something for us to talk about and that really helped our group time. We came up with notes of the chapters that goes as follows: Chapter 5:2-4 Christ would not be profitable; circumsision does void salvation. 5:11 if Paul still preached circumsision the people would not listen. 5:7-9 there was confusion. 6:6-8 cant put your faith on auto. 6:8 refered back to chapter 5:16. Next time in our groups we will discuss our applications and start planning to meet outside of class.

Yo yo Dr. Higley-0
Our group continued our process of working through our text. This week we looked athe the second half of our passage (ch 14-15).
We had some good discussion regarding the division of the church and stumbling blocks. As we have continued through the passages we have seen how Paul continues to add and build upon various topics, but he takes the time to lead and guide the church/ believers through each situation.

Ephesians 4

We spent a great deal of time talking about how great Mr. Higley is before moving on to our continued exegesis of the passage. We critically examined verses 7-16, focusing especially on vs. 10-12. We discussed the possibility of the "gifts" in 10-12 not being spiritual gifts, but responsibilties given to those of us in the church with authority roles. we also looked at the overall and smaller structures in the book as those of cause and effect.

Hey, our group talked a lot about gossip in relation to the book of James. WE talked about how Christians like to spiritualize things and say stuff like "pray for ____ because they did ____" WE also went over works and how they affect us and others in the body of Christ and even outside the body. We also talked about how we need to be careful how we approach others about problems.
